Sustainable and Self-Reliant Solutions
Pathways to Resilience
Land-based Traditional Healing — Guided by principles of the Seven Grandfather Teachings, participants are given a unique opportunity to redirect harmful behaviours, build a sense of worth, and re-establish connections to the land, self and community.
Gamikaan Bimaadiziwin ( I will find my Life again) — Co-creating and implementing a mental health/justice and community land-based restoration healing camp. Addressing the needs of at-risk individuals, through physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing, creating self-empowered, tailored reintegration programming while providing on-site land-based skills training and economic development opportunities for at-risk populations.
Skills Development and Employment Creation — Creating localized and individualized programs that focus on the goal of self-reliance and sustainability, targeting those who are involved with the criminal Justice and mental health systems to offset the negative impacts of overrepresentation and high rates of recidivism.
Train the Trainer Model — From sawmill operations mentoring to culinary and agriculture. Combining educational platforms and technology applications that enable bilateral inclusion of Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples contribution to a beneficial collaboration braiding the roots of sustainability for generations to come.
Education Platform (Three Sisters) — A diverse interactive bilingual education platform that incorporates traditional land-based teachings, with new technologies allowing for the education and training of a new generation of independence and self-determination.
